Empire State Pride Agenda

The political advocacy organization Empire State Pride Agenda has long promoted the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA), a proposed New York law that would protect the rights of transgender persons. 590films worked with longtime collaborator SKDKnickerbocker and Empire State Pride Agenda to conceive of a visual look for a series of films to inspire New Yorkers to back GENDA. As an extra bonus, we got to work with the fabulous Lorraine Cox, star of Orange is the New Black.

Though our series was filmed in 2013, as of 2017 the New York Senate has still not passed this important law.

Laverne Cox of New York City passionately states "our lives matter, and our government and state should support that."
